EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)

Tapping into Calm, Releasing the Stress.
EFT (often called "Tapping") is a powerful, evidence-based tool that combines ancient acupressure with modern psychology. By gently tapping on specific meridian points on the body while focusing on a challenge, you send a calming signal directly to the amygdala—the brain's alarm system.
It is a "first-aid kit" for your emotions that you can take anywhere.
How It Works: The Science of the Tap
When you are stressed, your body is in "High Alert." EFT works by:
-
Acknowledging the Truth: We name the stressor or the pain, which brings it into conscious awareness.
-
Map of Emotional Release: Each point is an entry way to a specific meridian (energy channel) that corresponds to a particular organ system and, by extension, a specific emotional "flavor."
-
Sending the Safety Signal: The physical act of tapping tells your nervous system, "I am safe right now."
-
Rewiring the Response: This breaks the link between the memory/thought and the physical panic response.
What to Expect in an EFT Session

While an EFT session is experiential, it is also more educational as it is a skill that
requires practice and patience. Generally speaking, we will:
-
Together Identify the "Sting": We find the specific emotional edge of your issue.
-
The Tapping Sequence: We guide you through the points, showing you exactly where and how to tap.
-
The Testing: We check in on your "intensity scale" (0-10) to see how the emotion is shifting in real-time.
-
Home Integration: We teach you a simplified sequence so you can use EFT as a self-help tool between sessions.
